Start Up

On SE keyword rank checker tool start up, a window with the title “Add Project” will get pop-up. Main Menu

The main menu of the tool contains:

• Project - A new project can be added from here. Existing projects can be edited or deleted on demand.
• Keyword Group - Edit or Delete Keyword Group name.

Search Rank

To initiate your search for a page ranking of a website for the specific keyword, on the home screen you have to perform three tasks. On the left hand side of the home screen, you will find the title “Project”. Select the name of the project (Website) for which you want to find the page ranking. In the middle of this left panel, you can see all active keywords of the project you have selected. And in the bottom-left side you will see “Search Engines” which you have already assigned to this website using the “Project” screen “Assign” option. You have to check-in against the search engine you want to find ranking on. You can also uncheck the search engines which you do not want to perform search on. And finally click on the “Start” button on the submenu given below the main menu.



As shown in the above screenshot, you will find other three buttons on the submenu of the “Search Rank” page. They are “Pause”, “Resume” and “Stop”.

• Start - Tool starts rank checking for the project selected
• Pause - Process of finding page rank for a particular keyword will be halted for a time being
• Resume - When you click on “Pause”, the process of will not start again until you click on “Resume” button
• Stop - Stop the process as soon as one click on this button and no reports are generated

The main panel shows the rank check report for project. The report is read as:

• Sr.No - This is the index number for the keyword with its rank on each search engine.
• Search Engine - The search engine that was parsed for the targeted keyword.
• Keyword - This is the targeted keyword for which all search engines were analyzed.
• Rank - The rank that the keyword has for the website being analyzed on the search engine being parsed.

Projects

This is the project management module where all the projects are added, edited, or deleted. The project list panel has the following components:

• Sr. No - The index number of the project based on the date of entry created
• Project Name - The project name is not the website address itself that is used to parse the search engines but is just a name given to the website for easy identification.
• Domain Name - This is the actual website domain that is used by the SE rank checker tool for analyzing keyword ranks and generating reports.
• Status - You will see two status here:Active or Inactive. Active status means if you select this project for ranking search, it will start processing but if the status is inactive you can not search the page rank for that particular project.
• Assign - This is a browse option using which you can see all available search engines and you can assign one or more search engines to this specific project. When you will start rank checking for this project, the system will show these selected search engine in the left hand side panel of “Search Rank” screen. This way, your search enginewise rank checking becomes a lot easier and accurate.
• Edit - The edit tool is used to modify the project name and/or the domain name of any existing projects. Also, you can change the “Status” of the project from here.
• Delete - Delete removes a project and its associated keywords from the application permanently.

The project name and its domain name are entered into the Add Project panel fields. On entering the correct details and submitting them by clicking on the Go button the project is saved on the rank checker keyword tool.

Keyword Group

This is the keyword group management module where all keyword groups are added,edited, or deleted. The keyword group list panel has the following components:

The CSV import is simple as the user needs to browse and select the CSV file to be imported and click the Import Keywords button. Similarly for manual addition the keywords need to be entered and saved individually.

• Sr. No - The index number of the keyword group based on the date it is created
• Project - The project name for which the keywords are grouped. For example, etatvasoft is offering many services and by creating keyword group feature we can distinguish different services of the same company or project.
• Group - The name of the particular keyword group is shown here.
• Edit - The edit tool is used to modify the keyword Group name.
• Delete - Delete the selected keyword group from the project it exists. All keywords associated with this group is deleted permanently.

On keyword Group page, only groups for the specific projects are created. To assign keywords to particular keyword group, we have a panel named “Keywords”. Our tool follows a simple and logical hierarchy which can be shown like this: Project>>Keyword Group>>Keywords. The sign “>>” represents the phenomenon of “Subset” here.

Keywords

By clicking on “Keywords” icon, the options shown on the top are as follows:

• Add Project Keyword - Here one can add a keyword to a specific keyword group of the project
• Select Keyword Group - This option is provided to see all the keywords assigned to specific keyword group. There is a drop down menu of keyword groups where you can choose any keyword group. When all keywords are shown, you can click on the “Select All” if you want to change the status of the keywords. You can also delete the keyword. To change keyword or delete it, “Select one” drop down menu is given.
• Select All - If you have selected particular group and click on “Select All”, all keywords get selected but if you have not selected any keyword group then keywords of all group will get selected.
• Select One - It is a drop down menu with three options: Active, Inactive and Delete. Once keywords are selected (check boxes are marked with true Sign), you can perform the needed action.
• Import Keywords - This amazing tool also provide with the facility of importing keywords directly from the CSV file. You can upload the CSV file in this tool directly.

The main functionalities of this page includes:

assigning keywords to keyword group. changing the status of keywords, importing keywords from CSV File. The default screen of keywords page includes the following elements:

• Sr.No - Shows index number of the keyword.
• Group - The name of the keyword group where the keyword belongs to.
• Keyword - Name of the keyword is shown here.
• Local Search Volume - The local column shows search volume data “specific to your targeted country and language.
• Competition - Shows the competition level in your niche market for the specific keyword on the scale of 1 to 10.
• Status - This column shows the active/inactive status of the keyword.
• Edit - Using this option user can change the keyword group, the name of the keyword, local search volume and competition value.
• Delete - This option is given to permanently delete the selected keyword from the associated keyword group.

Search Engines

The search engine module is for adding search engines to be parsed during the keyword rank checking for targeted keywords of the project domain. The Search Engine List panel displays the following components:

• Sr.No - Index number of the search engine.
• Search Engine - The name of the search engine.
• URL - The URL of the search engine comprehensive of its local extensions and query string.
• Parser Type - parser type is the base domain of the search engine, for eg. The parser type for all local search engines of Google is Google itself.
• Icon - The icon is the pictorial representation of the search engine.
• Delete - A search engine added to the parsing list can be deleted.
• Edit - The details of any search engine can be edited anytime.

To add a search engine the user needs to enter in the name, assign it an icon for pictorial representation, assign it its parser type and domain. Currently only the 168 Google domains are possible on this SE keyword rank checker tool but there is a scope for future extensions as well. An extended Querystring can be added to the search engine URL for specified search and the final URL to be parsed is saved.

Preferences

The user can configure the SE Rank Checker(SERC) tool setting for his/her own liking. If the user does not know what needs to be changed the tool accepts the default values that are displayed in the following text fields:

• Page Size - The number of results to be displayed on a single search engine results page (SERP) with a default value of 100 results per SERP.
• Maximum Pages to Search - The number of SERPs to be parsed with a default of maximum 2 SERPs.
• Delay between Page Requests - If multiple queries are generated for a search engine in less time the search engine considers it as spam and blocks all the further queries. Hence it is good to practice a delay between two consecutive queries. The default value for the delay is 5 seconds.

Reports

The report page is where the user compares existing reports to know the progress of the search engine optimization done on the project website. The user selects a project and then specifies the two existing reports that need to be compared.

The left pane displays the targeted keywords used for keyword rank checking and the search engine that was parsed for this rank analysis and reporting.

The report panel displays the following:

• Sr.No - Indexing of the search result
• Keyword Group - The name of the targeted keyword group for which its ranking report follows
• Keywords - The targeted keywords in the selected keyword groups
• Project URL - The URL of the webpage of the project website that occurs in the search engine results.
• Local Search Volume - The local column shows search volume data “specific to your targeted country and language.
• Competition - Shows the competition level in your niche market for the specific keyword on the scale of 1 to 10.
• Compare To Date - The former position of the website by report dates with same specifications of targeted keywords and search engine parsed.
• Date (Latest) - The current position as per the latest report standings by date of the website on the search engine specified in the left panel for the targeted keyword.
• Change - The change between the previous ranking and current rankings. If there is a positive difference the change is displayed with a green arrow point upwards and for negative change there is a red arrow pointing downwards.
• Best - This is the SERP rank of the website for the same targeted keyword and parsed search engine but is irrelevant of the reports being compared currently. The best rank is the topmost ranking gained by the website over all the existing generated reports.

The comparison reports can be exported as a portable document format (PDF) file for project reporting to clients and managers.
